If you smile when no one else is around, you really mean it. – Andy Rooney

smile

Andy Rooney was a television and radio writer who lived to an old age. He had a lot of wisdom about smiling such as believing that if you smile while alone, then you really mean it. If you want to have a beautiful smile, then you may need to visit an orthodontist to have an examination with medical images. One of the best things that a parent can do for a child is learning if they need to wear braces on their teeth. Having proper alignment of the teeth makes it easier for a child to consume a healthy diet and learn how to speak correctly. A sturdy bite can ensure that a child’s facial structure grows correctly to avoid needing additional orthodontia at an older age.

Learn More about Invisalign Treatment

While taking your child to an orthodontist, it is good idea to have your own examination to learn if Invisalign aligners can help to reduce the small gaps between your teeth. If your child is reluctant to wear braces, then seeing you wear removable aligners is an excellent way to set a good example for them. To make your life easier, you can ask the orthodontist to schedule appointments on the same day to get a new set of aligners or have wires tightened on your child’s teeth.

Call Us to Schedule an Examination with Medical Images

If you want to learn more about orthodontic treatments in order to smile while you are alone, then schedule an appointment with Dr. Patricia J. Panucci at Beach Braces in Manhattan Beach, Calif. You can learn about a variety of orthodontic treatments, including self-ligating metal devices, clear orthodontia treatments, invisalign for adults and teenagers, wild smile brackets, and lingual devices.

Smile in the mirror. Do that every morning and you’ll start to see a big difference in your life. – Yoko Ono

When Yoko Ono advised us to smile in the mirror every morning, she may not have been considering people who have bad teeth. When you have bad teeth, crooked teeth or just an unattractive smile, smiling in the mirror is hard. If you understand this, then maybe it’s time for you to make a change.

Get the Smile You’ve Always Wanted

A visit to our orthodontist is the first step towards a new smile. Orthodontics is the straightening of teeth and the alignment of the bite or the way the top and bottom teeth come together. Today’s orthodontics offers you more options than ever for getting straight teeth that will make you want to smile more.

Braces

Traditional metal braces are smaller than they used to be, and it has become more common for older teens and adults to wear braces. There are other options too, such as lingual (behind the teeth), clear, colored or with colored bands, and Wild Smiles with fun bracket shapes. These are great for kids and they can choose their bracket shape and even mix and match from six available shapes.

Invisalign

If your teeth need mostly straightening in the front and you don’t have a complicated bite issue, you may be a candidate for Invisalign aligners. The aligners are removable, and you take them out to brush your teeth and to eat. This makes them easy to wear, and because they are clear, most people won’t even notice that you are wearing them. Invisalign is not available to young children, but they are available for older kids who have most of their permanent teeth, teenagers and adults.

Why Smiling is Important

Smiling is good for your well-being, and your relationships with other people. If you don’t smile in the mirror or at other people because you don’t like your teeth, you may be sending a negative impression. There’s really nothing as important as your smile when you interact with others and when you look at yourself in the mirror. If you aren’t happy with your smile, call our orthodontist now to set up a consultation appointment.

What to Expect When Seeing an Orthodontist

When it comes to orthodontics, what we do with in the name. Orthodontic comes from the Greek words ‘ortho’ (straight or correct) and ‘dontia’ (teeth). We correct your smile to give you your best possible look.

Our main goal of treatment is to create the healthier, straighter smile you’ve always dreamed of. The decision to begin orthodontic treatment is an important one for many families to make.

We know how important it is for you to have a smile that makes you feel good about yourself. We also know how important understanding the process is for you from beginning to end. That’s why we want you to understand what you should expect at your first orthodontic visit.

By scheduling an initial consultation, you will ensure that the finished result of your orthodontic procedure will provide you with the look and comfort you want. Because we take advantage of the latest state of the art technology, we can deliver the most high quality results to fit your unique needs. To do this, Dr. Panucci stays up to date with the cutting edge of orthodontic research found in the most current orthodontic journals.

In the case of children, the American Association of Orthodontists recommends that an orthodontic evaluation be conducted for all children by the age of seven. Although treatment might not be needed at the time of evaluation, possible orthodontic problems can be avoided or lessened by intervening early.

How to Find an Orthodontist Near Me

Your initial orthodontic visit is an opportunity for you to discover which orthodontic treatment is the best for your needs. We welcome any questions or concerns you may have during this process, and our orthodontic team will be happy to address them during your first visit. We will discuss your options with you if treatment is recommended. We also provide you with examples of finished results via models and photographs featuring our oral appliances and retainers. Examples of our popular Invisalign aligners are also available for you to see.

We understand how valuable your time is to you. That’s why we make sure that your initial orthodontic visit covers everything you need to get set up.

We want you to be as relaxed as possible during your first visit, so we’ve prepared a detailed description of what the orthodontic process entails.

Step 1
At your first visit to our orthodontic offices, one of our orthodontists will determine how we can help you through a detailed orthodontic examination. We make sure we schedule plenty of time to go evaluate your orthodontic needs. This is usually around 30 minutes. In addition, a special X-ray may be ordered to help Dr. Panucci accurately diagnose your problem and suggest the exact treatment you require.

If treatment is suggested, an estimated cost of the treatment, an approximate timeline for how long it will take to complete and options available to you for setting up treatment.

Step 2
The next step we take towards realizing your new smile is completing your orthodontic records. During this step, we will take X-rays and impressions of your teeth. We will also take photographs of you and your teeth. Not only will this assist Dr. Panucci in designing your unique treatment plan, it will also provide you with before and after photos. Seeing these photos of how far they’ve come at the end of treatment is something our clients particularly enjoy.

Step 3

For the next step, your orthodontist will confer with you about your orthodontic records. You will also be shown examples of oral appliances, aligners, and any other equipment your treatment may require. You will also be able to use this consultation as an opportunity to ask Dr. Panucci any questions you may have about what your treatment will entail.

After this part of the consultation is complete, one of our financial coordinators will also be available to walk you through the financial process. This will include information on coverage and payment options. Once you’ve chosen to begin treatment, we can schedule your appointment to get your oral appliances within a few days.

Step 4

During this next step, you will finally be fitted with your new oral appliance. What happens next depends on whether you are getting traditional braces or aligners. Either way, this appointment will last no more than ninety minutes.

For Those Getting Traditional Braces
This process will be conducted by one of our skilled and experienced orthodontic assistants who will see to it that you are comfortable during the entire procedure. Additionally, any questions you have about this part of the process will be answered in full. After this session with our orthodontic assistant, your orthodontist will position each bracket onto your teeth with the utmost attention to detail.

For Those Getting Invisalign Aligners
Once your impressions for your aligners have been taken, they will be prepared the same day. Your impressions will go to the Invisalign lab where they will be scanned to create a detailed computer model of your teeth. This model will be used to craft your custom aligners. As soon as our office receives your custom aligners from the lab, you will be notified by phone or email to set up an appointment. This next part of the process is important as this is when your orthodontist will set the attachments to your teeth. We use these attachments to help us modify your teeth placement.

Once your aligners have been placed you will need to wear your aligners diligently everyday for almost the whole day in order to assure proper realignment. You will be allowed breaks of only 1-2 hours per day from wearing your aligners. Your aligners will be changed every two weeks or as prescribed by Dr. Panucci.

Step 5
Whether you chose traditional braces or aligners, this step is the magic moment when you finally get your oral appliances removed. Removing your appliances will only take around 80 to 90 minutes. It is a very simple and comfortable procedure. Once finished, we’ll give you those photos of your teeth before you started this amazing journey so that you’ll be able to fully appreciate how beautiful your new smile is!

smile for someone

It only takes a split second to smile and forget, yet to someone that needed it, it can last a lifetime. ― Steve Maraboli

smile for someone

The motivational speaker Steve Maraboli believes that giving someone a smile provides a lifetime of memories. When you smile at anyone, the expression may last less than a second, but it helps the other person feel better all day and influences someone’s behavior. If you avoid smiling because your teeth are crooked, then it is time to visit an orthodontist for a thorough examination. In many cases, a tiny change in your teeth’s alignment can make a huge difference in the appearance of a smile, and this is why many individuals choose to wear Invisalign to straighten their teeth.

Wear Clear Aligners

Invisalign aligners are one of the newest treatments recommended by an orthodontist for mild malocclusions. When you wear removable plastic aligners, the treatment plan typically lasts less than one year but can make a big difference in the positions of your teeth. These aligners are created in an assortment of sets, but each has a slightly different configuration. You are responsible for wearing the aligners in the correct order to move your teeth slowly into correct positions in the mouth. While you wear clear aligners, others can barely see the devices, so you can continue to give a great smile to anyone.

Schedule an Appointment

If you live in Manhattan Beach, Calif., then schedule an appointment with Dr. Patricia J. Panucci at Beach Braces. She is a knowledgeable orthodontist who provides personalized care to adults, teenagers, and children. While Dr. Panucci recommends Invisalign for many of her patients, she also offers these types of braces:

• Lingual – brackets are placed on the backs of teeth
• Self-ligating – designed without metal ties
• Wild smile – colorful brackets
• Clear – nearly invisible wires and brackets

When you have moderate to severe malocclusions, Dr. Panucci suggests that traditional braces rather than aligners are a better choice for repairing your misalignments.

A smile Becomes You or Perhaps You Become You when You Smile. – Margi Preus

smile

You probably know that a smile from you is likely to make other people smile as well. In fact, a warm smile is an excellent tool for disarming and charming potential opponents, but did you know that smiling can actually improve your emotional health? It’s true.

Smiling Chases Away the Blues

When you smile, your body releases chemicals called endorphins. These are the chemicals responsible for the “runners’ high” experienced by people who exercise strenuously. Endorphins boost your mood and give you an enhanced sense of well-being.

Smiling Decreases Stress and Anxiety

The endorphins released when you smile help to decrease the levels of cortisol in your system. High cortisol levels are associated with being anxious and stressed out. When your cortisol level drops, so does your tension.

Smiling Helps You Keep a Positive Attitude

The next time you are having a horrible day with everything going wrong, stop, take a deep breath and smile. Studies have found that it’s harder to think negative thoughts with a smile plastered on your face, even if you’re faking it.

Smiling Eases Social Awkwardness

Next time you’re at a party of a meeting where you don’t know anyone, try offering the other attendees a friendly smile. As discussed above, it will help you feel better. Smiling will also make you appear more attractive, trustworthy and approachable. You may even make a new friend or two.

So, what’s standing between you and that beautiful, healthy smile? Some women don’t smile because they’re embarrassed about having crooked teeth but think the only alternative is a mouthful of ugly metal braces. If this describes you, talking to an orthodontist about Invisalign can change your whole perspective.

In fact, why not get in touch with Beach Braces today to schedule an appointment? An experienced and compassionate orthodontist will examine you and provide you with an array of options, such as Invisalign, to bring out your most amazing smile.

Life is Too Short Not to Smile. Smile As Much As You Can. ― Steve Imig

smile

Did you know that up to one-third of people say that the first thing they notice about someone is their smile? Think about your own smile. What is the first thing that someone would notice about YOUR smile? Are you smiling as much as you can, or are your smiles tight-lipped because you’re self-conscious? Whether your teeth need a little bit of work or a lot, an orthodontist can help. Orthodontics aren’t just for teenagers–you deserve a beautiful and healthy smile, too!

Why should you get braces?

Straight teeth are a great way to improve your self-esteem, but your mouth is about a lot more than just looking good. Properly aligned teeth improve your overall health by protecting your teeth from decay, reducing jaw pain, and sometimes even reducing headaches. Whether you want traditional braces or a less noticeable alternative, your Manhattan Beach orthodontist offers a variety of options for all ages and all lifestyles.

Something for Everyone

You enjoy connecting with your child, but maybe you don’t want to match your teenager when it comes to orthodontics. If that’s the case, there are a variety of options available for your orthodontic needs. Lingual brackets attach behind the teeth instead of on the front for a less obvious but still effective correction. Also available are Esthetic brackets, which work just like traditional brackets but are clear so they are less noticeable on your teeth. Invisalign is a popular and removable option for adults who want straighter teeth without the hassle of brushing around brackets and wires. Invisalign aligners are removed during eating and drinking, and can be removed for special events. No one will even realize that you’re undergoing orthodontic treatment until they notice how straight your teeth look!

Don’t wait any longer to get the straight teeth and healthy mouth that you deserve. Stop dreaming about your perfect smile and make an appointment at Beach Braces. Life is too short not to smile!

There is a thin line between smile and laughter ― Santosh Kalwar

Santosh Yalwar

Santosh Yalwar believes your facial lips provide a thin line between a smile and laughter, but if you are too embarrassed to smile, then it is simple to undergo treatment from an orthodontist. In today’s modern world, having a perfect smile is easy with an assortment of orthodontic devices such as:

• Wild smiles – designed with bright colors
• Clear – designed to remain nearly invisible
• Lingual – worn on the back surfaces of teeth
• Retainers – worn to keep teeth in correct positions
• Self-ligating – no metal or elastic ties
• Invisalign teen – removable aligners

The only way that you will know the type of braces or aligners needed for your malocclusions is by having a thorough examination with three-dimensional medical images. After the information is collected, specialized computer software determines the type of orthodontia required.

Smile and Laugh without Feeling Embarrassed

You might need traditional orthodontia made with wires and brackets, but there are devices that are more attractive than old-fashioned metal. Alternatively, an orthodontist may tell you that Invisalign are a perfect choice to repair small misalignments. No matter what type of devices you need to wear, it is still possible for you to smile and laugh without feeling self-conscious about wearing aligners or braces.

No one is too poor to give a smile – a gift, often, of greater consequence than any sum of money ― VironikaTugaleva

gift

A smile is one of the best gifts that you can give to another human being. The best thing about a smile is that it doesn’t cost you a penny to wrap it up or to present it. A heartfelt smile is one of those priceless gifts that people of all income classes can offer to friends, family members, loved ones and strangers who just look as if they need to see a bright smile. Smiles are priceless because:

They’re Contagious

Smiling is contagious. No one can resist the temptation of a happy smile. Even people who are in pain will smile when they see someone else give them a smile. A dull room with one person smiling can quickly become a room full of beautiful smiles.

They Can Reverse a Frown

Happiness is to sadness as a smile is to a frown. It’s difficult for one person to look at another person who is smiling and keep wearing a frown. Such a situation usually cannot last for more than 30 to 60 seconds.

They Emit Warmth

A pretty smile can emit enough warmth to make a lonely person feel loved or a sick person revived. Everyone should offer a nice smile to someone that they see is suffering.

Start Working on a Beautiful Smile Today!

You can take steps to improve your beautiful smile by seeing an orthodontist for alignment restoration. An honest smile is an icebreaker

smile

When you meet a stranger at work or out in public, an honest smile is an icebreaker. A smile is the universal greeting around the world to say hello to someone. It doesn’t matter if you are at a job interview or social event, just flashing a beautiful smile can open the door to a new career or friendship. If you have a perfect smile, then there is a good chance that you visited an orthodontist as a teenager for treatment. However, when an adult missed out on wearing braces as a teenager, it is still possible to have teeth straightened to improve a smile.

Choose Clear Plastic Aligners

There are several orthodontic treatments available today to reduce malocclusions of the teeth, including Invisalign aligners that are easy to wear each day and remove for oral hygiene. When you are approved to wear Invisalign to repair gaps between your teeth, an orthodontist uses three-dimensional images to create up to 25 sets of aligners in slightly different configurations. By wearing the aligners in the correct order, you will have an improved smile line in six months to one year without needing to have metal wires and brackets fastened to your teeth.

If you live in or near Manhattan Beach, Calif., then it is easy to find a fantastic orthodontist at Beach Braces to learn more about the different treatments available to create an honest smile. Dr. Patricia J. Panucci is available for examinations at her orthodontic facility to help patients have an attractive smile with these types of braces:
